Confidence can be hard to come by, as a submissive it is not always apparent and sometimes not appreciated but you should never be afraid to be yourself and let your personality shine through.
For myself it felt unnatural at first, searching for the line between individuality and compliance, asserting and assigning myself a role, or defining my submissive personality.
Some find comfort in a name, assign personality as character traits, and some enjoy multiple roles and even multiple names and personalities.
There’s a fear with many submissives that their own desires negate the ability to be appealing to prospective D-types. Similarly there’s a fear that showing too much personality undermines the authority of a Dominant. As well, some roles like being a brat or a sissy come with predefined traits, some don’t want to be defined by a role while some feel confined to remain in the role.
You are your best when you are being yourself. Always. Self improvement should never include changing your personality, because you can’t. Choose your moments, test the waters. Be proud of who you are and don’t be afraid to make a mistake. Don’t be afraid to be punished (many D’s enjoy giving punishment). Don’t be afraid to take a risk because the worst that could happen is that you learn something.
I wasn’t able to take my usual place at my window to the world, i challenged myself instead to test the waters in less familiar surroundings, i used my courage to be the best and do the best i could do in the panties Mistress chose for me.
