Why your best isn’t good enough

Effort doesn’t equal success, it’s a hard lesson to learn but a very valuable one when you expect an outcome based on your contribution. From childhood you hear expressions like just do your best, or you gave it your all, designed to give you a measurement of output that you can set as your goal.

I cried after every hockey game growing up, and i gave my best effort every time. What i wanted was for my team to win, i wanted my success to mean something, i wanted my effort to mean something to others and it did not. I led the league in goals and points for two years before i quit and started pursuing other sports, i was never satisfied with my best in hockey.

It’s easy to say what i craved was acknowledgement, but it’s not so simple. Committing to something you enjoy is where satisfaction comes from, prioritizing it is a gift you give yourself. Your best effort in something you love is rewarding and acknowledgement of your commitment to it is where satisfaction meets reward.

Make sure whatever you do, when you apply your best effort, it’s doing something you love, with the expectation you will be satisfied with doing it. If you are fortunate enough to be recognized for those efforts, it’s the best reward possible.

These panties do most of the work for me, they are pretty enough that wearing them is satisfying on its own.

That’s what makes these panties special 😉
